This Project will demonstrate two innovative, cost-effective, large-scale seasonal underground thermal energy storage (TES) units to maximise the availability and resilience of heating supply, reducing significantly both energy losses and environmental impacts. The two TES units will be fully connected to large-scale district heating networks (DHN) able to accumulate various sustainable sources of heat (waste heat, solar thermal and hybrid, geothermal, power-to-heat).
This Project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Program under Grant Agreement n◦101136136. The total grant provided by the EC reaches to 9.647.826 € for the whole consortium.

ENDEF’s ROLE: ENDEF will design, test and develop a new and optimized model of PVT panel to be connected to the ATES/DH system in Riva del Garda demo site.
