The aim of the project is to improve solar energy generation systems by providing a competitive photovoltaic + thermal (PVT) hybrid solution that simultaneously meets heating and electricity demand. To this end, the project aims to develop a new hybrid air solar panel model, improving energy generation by 10% compared to existing models.
During the project, several prototypes based on a basic idea are designed, numerically optimized using a finite element model, and their actual performance is studied in a controlled environment. The PVT air panel model with the best results is installed in four demonstrations, of different sizes, building types, and climates.
Duration: 32 months, del 1/10/2019 al 30/05/2022
Coordinated by ENDEF. Partners: KRD Global Group (KRD) and University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) .
ENDEF’s ROLE: ENDEF is in charge of project management. From a technical standpoint, ENDEF is responsible for the design of the air PVT panel and experimental testing in a controlled environment. In addition, ENDEF manages the project’s four demonstrations, carrying out the definition, construction, commissioning and analysis of the results of two pilot plants.
